RIP WTCY The Touch Harrisburg

Have some airchecks of this station from the late 90s up on my page when it was on AM (most of its 18 year existence). The stream has already been put to rest.

http://www.thetouch953.com/

This is sad, of course the last remnants of longtime urban WILD-AM Boston also disappeared a few months ago. This means that neither Boston nor Harrisburg have a licensed urban.

That sucks since that was the only station that would stream the Touch. I always wondered how that station sounded. Most of the time when I listen it was current based R&B didnt even hear a 70's or 80's tune. Does that mean the translator is gone too?

I agree that WTCY had a great 24/7 stereo stream of the Touch and it is an unfortunate loss.

I think there are at least a few other Touch affiliates streaming

The best option for a stereo stream may be
WQSL-FM Greenville, NC
http://www.carolinatouch.com/pages/9034319

Others:

WBCP-AM Champaign, IL (stream is down at the moment)
http://wbcp1580.com/

KYIZ-AM Seattle, WI (some dayparts)
http://www.ztwins.com/

WMCS-AM Milwaukee (Overnights)
http://www.1290wmcs.com/

WEOA-AM Evansville, IN was streaming but the stream has been down for some time
http://1400amweoa.com/

There could be a few other ones in the South running at least a few dayparts.

I may stand corrected but from the website, it looks like all remnants of WTCY will be gone out of Harrisburg by the middle of this week.

This is a sad day for a station that had the guts to provide programming to the African-American community for 18 years despite low ratings and poor signal coverage on AM and FM. No one else will step up to fill that gap anytime soon if ever.

OK OK
TRY
ZTWINS.COM That is from Seattle, Wa. I believe they are an affilate of "The Touch" Choose 1620am
Last time I saw that site was about six months ago
Sending this Thursday September 1, 2011
Try ZTWINS.COM

After listening around the last few days, the Carolina station seems to run The Touch middays but not in the afternoon or evening. KYIZ Seattle runs it several evenings a week and in several other dayparts

yeah, that's the one I listened to at first (ZTwins 1620am ) since early 2000s. Around 2006, I found "Touch 95.3" Harrisburg
Yes, here in Boston, we have no (True) Urban AC stations. We die have "Star 93.7" which was Rhythmic AC from 2002-2007, they then changed formats to 93.7 Mike FM (which it is now) which plays 75% Classic Rock, the rest they play HOT AC, and some 2% Classic Hip Hop. Their Rhythmic AC is on their HD2 station "Funkytown" as well as online "Funkytownboston.com" which is ok.
Now, we have no true Urban AC here in Boston :'(
