RIPBS running school closings

Depends on if they have the manpower and ability to do so. Many PBS stations are on a tight budget.
They need to serve their community the same as everyone else and this is how they have chosen to do it.
Seems a natural fit too, since PBS is heavy on the kid's programs, what better place to run school closings.

PBS in Vermont does it
The RI Broadcasters Association set-up a universal school closing reporting system that is available to its member stations. This makes it easier for administrators to report closings to only one source rather than many individual.

As dumb as it sounds.I never thought to air School closings on WSBE.I'm surprised no one thought of this before.Like 30 years ago. what a great idea.
