RIPWFNX

well after reinventing itself as what to my ears was the most compelling alternative station online, or possibly even otherwise, WFNX, and now wfnx.com has, along with parent company the Boston Phoenix called it quits--I had become in recent months a fan of FNX's formatting, style and the music they were playing. It certainly will be greatly missed. I also really liked the model they were going with.

It's sad that the format never really gained traction. I felt the same way when WOXY closed it's online portal for good a few years ago. There are still a few good Alternative music stations online, like 91X, KUKQ, and KWSS for starters.

I'll have to check these out, my second default was q87 out of Chicago, fthough the music mix was a bit tighter, it's still solid and actually has personality, which was what made fnx so apealing to me--all the hosts seemed to love what they were doing every day they were doing it. Curt St.Thomas is still an absolute pro and acertainly as good a programer as ever. Hope he gets a shot somewhere else that isn't the middle of the night on kroqb
