Shall we do this again? I have a tendency to predict jocks getting inducted, which obviously isn't always going to be the case, but it's what I do anyway. For 2012:
Big Ange: Way past due & unfortunately now posthumous
King Arthur Knight: We need more legendary Providence personalities in the HOF
Joe Thomas: Again, posthumous. Again, legendary.
Pappy Philbrook: Besides being an engineering saviour on Eastern Avenue, he was kinda country radio's answer to Salty
Tony Bristol: Still on the air and still programming
Big John Bina: How many years in Providence radio? 35? 40? It's time.
Joanie Edwardsen: David's in and although he was well known before the Jones & Joan pairing, it's her turn.
Coach Colletto: Another member of Salty's team. Mike Gorman at another time.
 
Sad to see both Ange and Joe Thomas gone. Met them both at a small station in Maine, the now gone WASY 1590 in Gorham. Place was a junkshop over a pizza joint. I was there to apply for the Chief Engineer's job. Didn't get it,b ut a fun experience!
 
How about Mike Sheridan. I had the honor of working with this man for like 4 years. To quote Homer Simpson, "Nice teeth, good smell, a class act all the way!" Seriously, for many years this guy made drive time talent sound good with his inimitable style, personality, and humor. I was not compinsated for this endorsment. However, Mike did drive to Boston the day we got to meet the robot from Lost in Space.

How about Tony Rizzini who did mornings for so many years at the original WLKW (990)?

True that for a couple of later years he did a morning show for WARA (132) when it still identified with its COL but that was more of a hobby as he moved gradually toward retirement.

Yes, he's still alive but enjoying collecting old radios rather than working at anything....especially not broadcast.

This week, we mourn the passing of veteran Los Angeles radio/TV announcer Dick Tufeld, the voice of that robot, and hundreds of commercials.
