Rita Cosby 4-6 pm WOR

You would probably have to listen to a college radio station to hear a worse voice on radio.  I like her, but think she is ill-suited for the gig.  What are they thinking?

Well said! I'm not sure the the problem is her voice per se. She needs to calm down, stop yelling, stop giggling, let guests and callers get a word in, and learn to sound like she's in control. This is RADIO, not TV -- the world won't end if she relaxes a bit.

She might well settle into the role over time when she has several hundred daily shows under her belt but, if management is thinking that's likely to happen anytime soon, I'd say they're wrong. There's a lot at stake for a station under new ownership in the country's #1 market. Not exactly the best place for tryouts.

The afternoon shows are just place holders till Sean and Rush get out of their WABC deals
You're probably right. There was no real fanfare about Cosby filling that slot and she might have been willing to take it on a temporary basis to add to her resume and to see if she likes doing a daily radio show.
