River not too bad

The River on 94.7 is not a bad station, at least they play a broader variety than the 97.5 Hawk or MGK, they also throw some new stuff in. Granted, they are not too hard, in the same fashion as 97.5 and 102.9, BUT they do have more variety. It would be nice for them to land on either 93.7 or 99.5. On that note, does anyone remember the old 94.7 in the mid 70's when they were called, "WDSD Big Country Stereo 95", with Don the Dude and the best Classic and New Country, plus great personalities to boot. With 94.5 on flea power and small tower back then, 94.7 had a much better signal in the Philly area.
 
The River sucks, dude. They are a musical trainwreck. And your definiton of 'variety' is widely skewed. You sit here and say that The Hawk and MGK have LESS variety than The River. How long did you listen? You're going to tell me that James Taylor in to Avril Lavigne in to Simple Minds is a good mix? You must be kidding.

Last week, The River went off the air for FOUR hours and not one person noticed. Shows you how big the listenership is...If a tree falls in the woods and no one is around....

WRDX was waaaay better when it was "The Rock of Delaware" playing AORish Classic Rock.

It would make absolutely no sense to put "The River" on 93.7 or 99.5. 99.5 is CONSISTANTLY rated #1 in Wilmington with over a TEN share! 93.7 is CONSISTANTLY rated #2 in Wilmington with over a SEVEN share.
 
Remember, The River is owned by Clear Channel. WSTW is Delmarva Broadcsting and WJBR is a strange company that I swear is a cover for Clear Channel. As is pointed out in this thread, 99.5 and 93.7 have been #1 and #2 since the 80's. You can't just move a format to them anyway, and when you have 2 stations with nearly 20% of the market, why would you.

A side note. While WRDX has long billed itself as a Wilmington station, even broadcasting from Claymont, their low ratings are because their transmitter is in Dover, Delaware! They are NOT a Wilmington station. There are sections of New Castle County where you can't even hear them!
