RIVERCATS return to KCCL

Today's Bee says the RiverCats will once again broadcast all 144 regular-
season games, plus any post-season games, on KCCL (K-HITS) 92.1 MC
(Bee Sports, page 3)...

Which means if you go to Raley Field and listen to Johnny Doskow's
play-by-play, bring your G.E. SuperRadio or equivalent, since a regular
portable radio/Walkman cannot pick-up the 92.1 signal very well in
"The Yard"...

Just in time to knock down those summer ratings....Woohoo!

Newsperson responds:

It's not like the River Cats can go anywhere else. Let's see they've been on:

1320, 1380, 650, and 92.1 - If each affiliation was 2-years that only brings it to 2007. Were they on a station longer than 2-years or am I missing a station?

This year they will play the new Reno Aces so we'll have another reason to go to Reno.

Time flies as the last time I went to a River Cats game was 2005, how about you?

Seems that the RiverCats were on 1320 KCTC for three years, NewsPerson...can't 'member for
certain...

I attended a few games in 2000 and 2001, then went on a dry spell until 2006, when I started
frequenting the 'Cats games (though I could not hear most of the {former} flagship stations
where I live)...

We should also include the Spanish-language RiverCats broadcasts on La Vaquera 1240 KC (KSQR?)
from 2000-2003, and La Favorita 106.1 MC (KCFA) since then...

A's announced today they have added KTKZ 1380 as a new affiliate. It didn't say how many games. I realize that KAHI and KHTK have carried the games in the past in the Sacto area but if KTKZ carries more games then KHTK did in the past, I wonder what effect it will have on Rivercat broadcasts?????

I am surprised that KCTC- ESPN 1320 didn't go for the Rivercats. KHTK has the Kings, so I think KCTC should have the A's. I am curious, What Local Teams are on KCTC?

Zero...zilch...zip...none...nada...
Even the Sac State Hornets a year ago or so were on 1240 KSAC...I see nothing on 1320's
website for local teams broadcasts, just ESPN's...

Great to hear that the A's will be back in Sacramento on 1380 KC, especilly since the KTRB 860
signal does not make it very well at night in Sacto. I doubt the A's radio presence will have a
negative effect on the 'Cats, but I DO wonder if some of the 'Cats road games will be "tape-delayed"
again, as been the norm for most of the road-broadcasts over the years. Ick!
