Rizzo and Goldhammer claim Lebron has Cancer?

I haven't listened to the show since 2008, mainly out of disgust for Goldhammer et al. But this is enough to make me NEVER want to listen to the station - period - ever again.

Now, I'm sorry, as I've been very critical of tRBS, but going on-air to make such a claim - regardless of its' truthiness - is both disturbing and disgusting. I don't even care if it was 100% true and disclosed from LePuke mismanagement team... it's beyond unprofessional. I gravely despise LePunk, but if this claim is out-and-out false, shouldn't he have the right to go after the station, Rizzo and Goldhammer for libel and personal damages? I would think so!

Sadly, it's what I've come to expect from a radio station like WKNR. At times I really wish that Salem still owned them.

Agreed..I think it's rather telling that no other Media in Northeast Ohio , whether it be Newspaper, Radio, or TV, hasnt said a thing about this at all..
 
Why arent others getting hip to this stations crap and calling them on it? Ive seen much less erupt into a big media firestorm.

WKNR really is the lowest of the low. They have been low before but this might be a new low for them. How far down can they go before thier trash becomes an issue?

I honestly don't know. They could get even far worse, to the point that the station may get sued or has it's license challenged. Maybe it's the threat of getting counter-sued by Goldhammer's dad, on Craig's behalf?

Personally, because WKNR and tRBS has little credibility to begin with, most people probably don't give them much thought spreading rumors like that. And of course the people at WTAM just look at them and break out into uncontrollable fits of laughter.

The dangerous part of this, because WKNR isn't held to account, they end up emboldened with a feeling of invincibility. It doesn't take Einstein to figure out how that ends.

KNR had a big lawsuit years ago when someone ( Olsewski ? ) reported a Browns player got arrested ( or something ) with some other Bpowns players. Was in the Butch Davis years. Player through a hissy fit and took the station to court. I believe in a case of slander it is incumbent upon the injured to prove to a court how they were harmed before any damages are assessed. LeBron would have to pay alot of money to alot of lawyers to prove those clowns harmed him with that remark. I don't like that athlete either. But Tony Rizzo saying that? Come on guys.

I agree !The Salem years were much more entertaining! Drennann was running a bookie bsuiness and getting busted for it! Now THAT'S entertaining! ! ;D

I agree !The Salem years were much more entertaining! Drennann was running a bookie business and getting busted for it! The TV stations were there everyday for weeks!Now THAT'S entertaining! ! ;D

By new lows you meant the highest ratings in the history of WKNR, correct?

You guys really need to get over your obsession with Goldhammer. The audience is eating it up, and they are beating some big stations in their day part.
 
To be fair and clear--

Hammer said that LeBron didn't look healthy and intimated it could be something serious.

Rizzo, frequent RBS guest Brian Windhorst, and even Ned (with no doubt all their eyes rolling) tried reeling Hammer in, saying that basically #23 was just cracking under the pressure of the mega-hype, and it was getting to him.

Rizzo himself would never say anything crazy like that, nor would Ned to his credit.

The " high ratings " are directly attributable to measurement estimate technology called PPM.

One other help is the sad state of affairs in Cleveland's pro sports teams. Cavaliers basketball lows and the Brown's dismal state of affairs bring excellent fodder for sports talk callers.

The performance of inexperenced weak on air talent relying on " cancer scare " gimmicks is not
what is improving ratings. Jim Rome gets ratings. No cancer schtick.

Apparently people can eat Alpo and think it's filet mignon, too. That doesn't make it right. I know people that are strident liberals that tune into GLENN BECK because Goldhammer tuned them off for good.

Rizzo has no local competition in that timeslot in its' final two hours (Rover, which is a local-only show, is live until 11am). And WKNR is the default all-sports option in town, with no competition in that arena to speak of.

It's like calling yourself the world's tallest little person. Wow what a victory.

I heard the show on Tuesday when all this was brought up.

Hammer was the one throwing out this stupid theory.

But since Rizz is the one whose name is on the marquee, he's the one who takes the blame.

Check the podcast. Rizzo said it. Said he spoke to someone who is close to him adn thats where it came from. You Riz apologists always trying to pin his crap on Goldhammer or someone else...
