Thats right during today's encore Classic Cuts show RJ did in fact appear on 77TheThrill on Nowlive.com

Meanwhile, Stephanie Miller appears on The Cockroach (pre-recorded). ;D

You need to clarify Mike. Was RJ on your show LIVE, or did you play tape from back in the Ch. 7 days?
Rj from the good old days but still he is the man who gave me my start in this business, and i paid honor to the man, myth, and legend with a special Thank You Rj, on the podcasts at 77TheThrill .

*Sigh* Where does one begin and where does one end?

Michael, these kind of posts really fringe on being not permissible on this forum. It's the Philadelphia radio forum and you promote *bites tongue so as not to say anything foul* 12 year old tape from "TV Heaven Channel 7" shown on a webcam that just so happened to have Mr. J on it streamed on NowLive. It's like the six degrees of separation game being played here.

By the way, friends if you're scoring at home (and God save you if you are), he's gone from 77TheBuzz to 77TheThrill to Channel77TheThrill on NowLive. Takes your breath away, doesn't it?

Is it just me, or is this now the Perfect Storm of self-important radio ego?

If the Geator were to come within 20 miles of this, it would reach critical mass, and all of Philadelphia radio would melt down from the undue smugness.

Rj was my mentor and teacher so I wanted to do a thank you show to him before i leave the business for good.

Mike, please read this post from Jim Williams:

May we have a firm date?

Seriously though, Jim Williams is right. In my opinion as well, your posts really belong on the Streaming Board, not on a Philadelphia radio board.

You have shown yourself to be unwilling to take constructive criticism of any kind and, having heard one of your "Buzz, Thrill, Channel 77...or whatever" webcasts, I can only hope that stop date is soon. The "show" I saw was one where you did little more than drink for the entire show, appearing to get more inebriated by the sip . It was embarrassing and you should be ashamed to have done such a show. I wonder what your mentor RJ would say about it?

So, when is the fabled last show?

Mike, if we raised enough money, would you throw your computer in the middle of Amamingo Avenue and promise us that you will never use the internet ever again?

Mike you really need to just consider the type of show you want to do and stick to the format of it. You keep changing everything and because of all the sudden changes you can't sit down and do proper show prep and in turn your show and reputation suffer greatly. It's one thing to get a whole bunch of ideas at once but that is what a notebook is for to jot down and keep track of your ideas. Stop dragging out your past and stop airing your dirty laundry on air. Going on the air drunk and getting worse by the second what in the world is wrong with you?!!! And you do need to start taking criticism better. If you want to do a thank you show for RJ why don't you set up an interview with him? Your off the wall posts might be important to you but not to a lot of other people. Maybe you should start using your Myspace blog and post bulletins on there. And you keep saying your leaving and that this is the last show yet your farewell tour is a more dragged out event than the Rolling Stones. Either stay on air find and stick to a format so you can do proper show prep or hang up the mic and call it quits. I know a lot of this post sounds very harsh but there is no sugar coating the truth.

At least when Stephanie Miller drinks and goes on the air, she's entertaining.

Tell me... What major radio stars have you aligned with, Mr. Phillips?

Tom McCarthy Phillies Tv play by playman and Jim Jackson tomorrow on 77TheThrill

Thats right both are booked for tomorrow Tom McCarthy at 130Pm Est and then Flyers Tv Play by Play man at 3pm est taking your calls only on TheThrill.

All I can say is I can't disagree with most of the posts. But then again if I make any criticism these days, I get a personal email sent to me telling me how cruel and what cold person I am by an admin.
I watched Mr. Phillips act last week roughly for 5- 15 minutes.....through a link offered by another post. The web technology was fascinating except not the person that was on it.
Mr. Phillips....how old are you? It was sad and it was silly. It was very tasteless. I don't know what you get out of luring people to watch this legend in your own mind concept by placing post that has no effect or relation to Philadelphia radio..... or what's on this board. I don't know what you call talent...but it looks like a man trying to hide his way from having a nervous breakdown.
Your so called archives of Channel 7......who the hell in Philly remembers Channel 7? Who in their right mind beside a few members on this board can tell if this was your first, second or last show before you claim retirement in the industry. And how missed your going to be when your gone? I never heard of you until I read your post on the board. And your mentor? R.J. You sure have the wrong kind of enthusiasm if you actually think your going to one day prophet on this.
The Flyers play by play man on tommorrow? I 'll give you credit just getting a city street sweeper on your show, or things are getting bad in the NHL and no one's watching.

When I read post like these or check out someone's online gig that they promo....I react like most people on this board....whether something is good or bad....but I get silenced, the more the silly or embarrasing the person or station I comment on. I try to hold back especially when someone makes a political statement that relates with radio, talk stations on here (these days) that I detest....But i thought I join here with everybody else....and i thought I be nice by trying to persuade an adult to quit making a complete fool of himself.

"Flyers Tv Play by Play man" ? Is that like calling Rhea Hughes "Nice radio lady"?

Mike, seriously, stop. Stop. Stop. Stop.

Based on the "appearance" of RJ, I will predict Mike will have a cardboard cutout of Jim Jackson, and Tom McCarthy will once again bail on him and not call in - just as he's done many times before. Tom McCarthy: a Real American Hero.

He can't get T-Mac. Shocker! I have nothing against Tom McCarthy. I actually like his work on Phillies TV (putting him as a roving reporter during the innings Harry Kalas is on play by play is quite smart). And, maybe he's even smarter by giving Beerboy the cold shoulder.

Roscoe, Michael is asking for a couple of thousand bucks from you, then he will leave. I kid you not. He just said it in front of all 2 viewers.
