Once again, who is RJ? Do we get digital channel 25 on FiOS or Xfinity?

Attention Bill W.,

Bill W, I see from your bio that you're from outside Philadelphia. That's why you might not know RJ. He's only been around on the air for 40 years. Check his bio and you'll be informed. Yes, TV 25 is on Xfinity and fios in the North Jersey, and Trenton areas plus, over the air in Philadelphia and the suburbs on Digital receivers. I hope this enlightens you.

If you say the tower is in Chestnut Hill, do you mean the MIX-PEN tower on Mermaid Lane, and if so, why doesn't C-Cast carry it in the Philadelphia area. Why would North Jersey and Trenton be interested and not the Philly market...

Been in the Philly area since 1978. Still doesn't ring a bell. I've been around for 41 years.

Actually, WHYY was Philadelphia's first UHF.

http://phillymemories.tripod.com/id15.htm

WHYY became Philadelphia's first UHF channel (35) in 1957. Channel 12 went dark in 1959, and in 1963, WHYY moved from channel 35 to 12. Even though channel 12 has always been licensed to Wilmington, DE, its transmitter and studios are now in Philadelphia.

Channel 17 was number two.

Channel 17's history in Philly began in 1960 as WPCA, a religious station owned by the Young People's Church of the Air. WPCA went off the air in 1962. On 9/17/65, WPHL was signed on the air by Wee Willie Webber, who hosted the Wee Willie Colorful Cartoon Show for ten years. WPHL also broadcast the Phillies, Flyers, and Sixers. WPHL became a WB affiliate in the mid-90's.
