RKO 25th, 26th in the 25-54 ratings

Finneran, Reese, and Russshhhhhhhhhh aren't doing well for RKO. The shows place 25th and 26th
while WTKK came in 9th with Imus and 8th with Graham and Eagan and Braude

http://bostonherald.com/business/me...&format=&page=2&listingType=media#articleFull

Some wondered if Finneran's ratings would suffer if he had Howie on WTKK opposite him. But he's actually being beaten by a whole bunch of other stations (including the man Howie calls "the corpse in a cowboy hat")
even with Howie safely in the afternoon WRKO lineup rather than at WTKK (no word from Herald on
what HC's ratings were)

If WRKO were a station running all syndie in those time slots (say, Air America, Jones, or Salem shows)
those numbers would probably lead to a change of hosts, maybe even a format change.
Instead RKO gets them with six hours of local and three of the #1 talk host nationwide. What gives,
Entercom?

Hmmm, interesting numbers for the felon. My cousin told me that yesterday or the day before, the felon was bragging that his audience has increased 50 percent.

It's no wonder that Howie Carr is losing audience. You just can't come across like a teenage boy bully and expect that people are going to enjoy your show. Yesterday, in Carr's column in the Herald, he spent much of the article putting the people of Arlington down. Doubt if you'll see many Arlington folk entering WRKO and Carr in a ratings diary if he's the same on the radio if he is in his column.

He can still be entertaining. If he were polite to everyone he wouldn't be Howie. Boston's BAD boy :)
That being said his ratings prob are down, too; talk radio in general is going down.

ha--Howie has yet again talked about hearing a news report on "that special radio I'm not allowed
to mention". All it took was 'RKO ordering that his mentioning of the Sirius-XM merger was verboten
for him to twist the knife in whenever he can! And folks, he's not talking about that other type
of radio...the one whose ads DO run on several stations locally (you know, the one where you pay
once and get some extra channels but no monthly fee).

but on the other hand, if you happen to hate Arlington yourself you'd find his show to have uncommon insight and being 'the glue holding ‘RKO together'.

Well I guess as long as they have Howie & The Red Sox it doesn't really matter, however how are they gonna convince advertisers to spend big money in the AM with less than 1 in a hundred people listening at any given moment? ???

Oh btw, my spell check suggested that I replace RKO with TKO instead. ;D

Judging by this board, one would think that WRKO should be #1! That is unless you guys are all over 55 like the rest of their listeners :D

Well, I've lived in Arlington for 44 years and I've never had anything good to say about Carr either. But what did he say about me and my neighbors? If you can't summarize, can you supply a link? If the Herald's links expire on the day after publication, as do many links to articles on newspaper Web sites, I'd guess the link idea might not work.

I'll be over 55 some day (but I guess YOU never will, huh?)
