RKO big announcement:RUSH

RUSH IS COMING BACK next Mon

A week from Monday, the 20th. McPhee will do the morning show with Feinburg. Armstrong stays at 9-11. Jeff Kunher has an hour from 11-12. Rush 3-6, Howie 3-7. Coast to Coast also coming back.

Wow. That's it. I was expecting something a little more substantial. Carr did not echo Rush's praise fromRKO and his comment that it is the station that makes the talent.

So Mcphee moves to mornings. Jeff Kuhner from 11 to 12??? How odd?

What does this mean for the former Rush radio? Will CC keep pouring money into 1200 so they clear Hannity?

YAY!!! Clear Channel will be a bit poorer now.....!

This is great news! And why do they keep Mcphee around?!?!?! They need to give her the boot..................!!! They should bring back that guy they had before Mcphee, I forget his name- I saw him on TV once- tall skinny guy---- He was a softie, but at least you could listen to him-----!!! Mcphee is a squawking parrot..!!!!

I had heard local hosts gone from 1200...don't know what they go to, sports (Fox S.), Spanish, libtalk, etc.?
Do they at least run local talk minus Katz, Rush, and Sev. for now till format switch? How long was Sev
contract? Guess it was broken.

They couldn't get Howie...if they did... hmm.

WRONG!! When he said next Monday, Carr had the date wrong. A minute or so later, he corrected the date to 8/21. But that doesn't make a lot of sense; the 21st is a Tuesday. I think he meant 8/20, which is a Monday.

I doubt they are going to go Progressive. Would Big Ed, Stephanie Miller et all do any better than Beck and Hannity.

With another AM signal soon to go all sports via the new NBC/Comcast product they may not go Fox Sports. My guess is they will run out the clock with National Conservative Talk till they figure out what to do next.

I hate to see a guy loose his job, but I am happy Katz is out of work ,all be it temporarily since there is always a need for a Lonesome Rhodes knock off. His show was nasty and mean. And he sounded like a guy doing a parody of a conservative talk program.

Carr is mean and a bully and he likes nothing else than kicking a guy when they are down but at times he shows a softer side. Katz always sounded vile.

Rush has lost his luster over the years. Remember when people would crowd into Rush Rooms at restaurants to listen to the show while eating lunch. Or the Rush to Excellence tour?

These days, his audience is made up of old angry white men like the ones around here who sit around Mall Food Courts drinking coffee and complaining they never got to vote on Gay Marriage.

Pairing McPhee with Todd Feinburg is a terrible idea. McPhee is an obnoxious loudmouth who can't carry on a conversation without resorting to over-the-top dramatic language; it seems like her favorite words are "egregious," "outrageous" and "insane." How she has lasted this long going from TV to radio is a testament to the ignorance of station execs. Todd is not the most cerebral host but he can keep a topic going without sounding like he's 'shouting off a back porch in East Boston.' That pairing cannot possibly last long.
