RKO extends Finneran; wants Eagan and Braude

Despite poor ratings, WRKO re-ups Finneran for another year. They're hoping to eventually
sign Eagan and Braude away from WTKK (in a year, it looks like). The article says Finneran's
show has ranged from 14th to 18th among 25-54s.

So, if WRKO got Jim and Margery would they put them in morning drive and get rid of Finneran (or
move him to late mornings)? Would they even put them in middays and ditch Rush? (Rush does OK
in ratings though; if they did, WTKK could pick up El Rushbo). But this is all a year off.
 
The story notes that Todd Feinburg "could be made Finneran’s permanent co-host next year." Good decision.

As for Entercom's apparent desire to bring Eagan and Braude on board, remember that this is not Entercom's first attempt to recruit Jim and Margery:

I can't see Jim and Margery going to WRKO; why voluntarily go to a lesser station? (IMHO)
 
Well they do have Howie and the Red Sox but otherwise: only 2 local shows...lots of unsold spots
(PSAs in their place). WEEI's huge profits help to subsidize 'RKO (whose ratings in the 12 plus actually
aren't all that bad--the last period had them in 5th, but I think the 25-54 demos is more valued and I
get the feeling they may not do as well there. (If I could see the ratings I'd know for sure)

click ratings--but again, these are 12 plus

If the Red Sox really help out 'RKO, you could imagine that connecting a player to them might at least
keep up the identity of Red Sox (exc. for Wed & wkday day games) Radio: The Curt Schilling Show!

Schill btw is a regular on Dennis and Callahan and they put podcasts up of him--and the WRKO page has linked
to it (esp. since he was talking news events--the war, in addition to "Sox off season moves").
 
God from bad to worse I cant stand finneran but I cant believe someone is actively looking to bring in E&B no wonder Entercom’s stock is ready to be de listed!
