'RKO looking into online vandalism

http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/n.../2007/10/19/entercom-probes-online-vandalism/

Wolfe: "“We understand you’re upset about what was written and we absolutely do not condone it. We would never condone comments like that about any employee, present or past. We have not, and will not, violate our nondisparagement obligations to you and we expect that you will not violate yours to us.”"

Scotto starts at WROW Albany NY on Monday (and fills in for John Gibson on Fox's syndie talk radio tonight)

Ha ha, maybe Entercom will release a statement declaring that they are "as innocent as anyone else ... out there ... "

Yes, Entercom is 'looking into this' the same way that O.J. Simpson is 'looking for the real killers.'

Priceless!!

Yep, we'll find Julie and Mini Me searching golf courses and malls all over New England for the "real vandals!" LOL ;D :D ;D

Seems to me that Scotto has them. If they truly do have a written agreement not to disparage the other in any way and he can prove the vandalism came from WEEI via their IP address, then he should sue for damages.

Scott would lose his money faster than Howie. Entercom has no motive to defame or disparage Scotto, and Scott himself knows that. Scott remains on good terms with the company as he should. It is a small business and he is a good guy. The ill-advised, unilateral action of one employee (a lone gunman theory of sorts, if we are making conspiracy analogies) is not going to cause Entercom to be liable. They can undoubtedly prove good faith effort to unearth the identity of the perpetrator.

Feel free to rebut if you wish, but my legal track record on this board has been pretty good.

Agree with Dark Knight re business reality of of suing Entercom re statements.

But, people - doesn't this fall into the category of practical joke?? Reading Scotto's post, I found the righteous indignation a little bizarro. Mr. AMD of provocative talk gets upset about obviously over-the-top statements?? I would think he would be thrilled about the publicity. Furthermore, since he worked there, I bet he can guess who the likely culprits are.

If they really wanted to ruin him, they wouldn't say he has sex with wild pigs - that's way too extreme. They'd only have to mention... well, I can think of a couple of rumors I could start, but I'll leave it up to the Entercom guys...
