also think Howie makes a mistake trashing WRKO's signal and AM radio. Other than WBZ, he's on the best signal in market and has all the affiliates to fill in the gaps.\
Especially since Howie is on the only station in the market which is going to pay him anywhere near what he wants, so I would bet on him, when push comes to shove, re-upping on WRKO. WTTK has figured out they don't need him to deliver numbers and make money, and Eagan and Braude make less combined than Howie by himself. I think WTTK figures they dodged a bullet (they fell over themselves bailing on their offer) when the judge ruled that Howie didn't understand his own contract, so they'll give him a wide berth next time around. Rush Radio would be an option, provided Howie wants to work for a fraction of what he now pays in taxes. It would also make the signal issues he harps on look, shall we say, somewhat disengenuous.
Howie is left with two options. Leave the market and salvage his ego, or come up with some plausible story about why he's staying at WRKO. Offhand, I can think of a couple of folks who'll buy into any fantasy he runs out there, but Maloney will go absolutely bonkers. For the right money, Howie will gladly endure the Maloney barbs and arrows.
