'RKO should have mentioned Savage move on air

A couple people in the Drudge thread at Free Republic mentioned what a shame it was that 'RKO was dumping Michael Savage. I pointed out to them the MS will still be on, only from 10 pm -1 am. Yes, later, but a)better than not being on at all,
and b)less Celtics pre-emptions.

'RKO's site now does mention the new time slot for MS but why didn't they run an occasional promo saying "Michael Savage--moving to 10 pm starting Monday
Dec. 12 on WRKO!" They sure ran a bunch of promos for the new Feinburg show,
Taste of Boston, but with no mention of the change of Savage's time slot,
many people probably figured they just dumped the show...

Some folks at FR are also fretting about 'RKO having the Celtics...part of
Howie's shows ("Howie BUILT that station") being pre-empted, and the fact that
the Celts play at 3 pm on M.L. King day so no Howie show at all...

btw, one of the posters on Free Republic was told by someone at 'RKO that
Savage would be the one who'd be gone, not Batchelor. I told him/her that
that person had wrong info...just check 'RKO site.
______________

It's a ratings ploy not mentioning MS is moving, this way everyone who hasn't been paying attention lately will tune in at 7 to hear MS and instead will hear the YAWN new program, more ratings the first 10 minutes of the program!

Actually after 1 minute of the new show they'll be on the phone to
'RKO demanding to know why Savage is gone! (Though I assume the
promos for TOBT ran during Savage'e show last week--on those nights when
Celts didn't pre-empt him)

Not everything is a ploy or a conspiracy. There are also
some lousy programming decisions being made. WBZ and WTKK
have already sent their Thank-You cards.

They should call the new show "If A Tree Falls In The Forest"

Here's the promo tag "His ratings were in the toilet on the weekends,
now they won't exist at all."

Really - a Todd Fineburg fanclub? What's the sound of one hand clapping?
That's when the club meets.

Isn't RKO's license up for renewal early next year? Now's the time to write
those complaint letters

If that's all you have to complain about, don't waste your time. The fact that you don't like their programming does not constitute grounds to not renew their license. The FCC is not an arbiter of programming or taste, no matter how much we might want them to be.

Now...if you can find a way to have them expose a breast on the air...oh wait, this isn't TV...never mind...

And for the record, Listo Fisher did mention during his newscasts today
that "Michael Savage is moving to 10 pm" and Todd Feinberg did the
same during Taste of Boston, though this was the first mentions on-air
that WRKO had about MS's new hours.
______________
