ROACHES AT CHANNEL 5

This upcoming move I hear make the second move for channel-5. Someone told me that before its current location, they were forced out of its original building because it had been taken over by roaches. They tried and tried to get rid of them, but could not. They had to move. They left everything behind..equipment, desks...everything, so as to not bring any roaches into the new building. Has anyone heard of anything like that?

There is some truth to it. I worked in the former channel 5 building for a year or so and never saw a single roach. I think had to do more with the building just not being large enough for their needs.

They were on the top floor and no room for growth above or below. They did leave all the desks and chairs but took all the electronic equipment from what I understand.

They like food, but they also like glue, cardboard boxes, brown paper bags, soap, and are also referred to as "water bugs". Termites are members of the roach family too.

When ordering supplies, it is best to get rid of the cartons.

That is not correct. The station - WBAP-TV in those days - was in its current building the day that it first signed on the air on September 27, 1948.

It's probably that little office park on Randol Mill where KTXA set up shop in late 1980 (before their Jan 1981 signon.) It's a little east of Jerrydome but west of 360.

Everyone's Turning 21. Including the roaches, I'd guess.

Yeah, although that building was bulldozed to make way for the Ballpark nearly 20 years ago. It stood where Randol Mill and Ballpark Way now meet, just past centerfield.
