Roadsteamer stages BCN Rumble party

And a guarantee that he or his music won't be on the airwaves of many radio stations (not just CBS, I'd bet)

He's an astute musician, Karson. And he does a dead-on Springsteen.

I was talking more about his singing in this video. Not really my style, nor many others, it would would seem. I've spent years in the Programmers chair and the bottom line is the music. You don't need a huge label or tons of money to "make it" in the biz. If you're making good music that fans are passionate about, then you have the ability to succeed in the industry. I think too many people are quick to blame "corporate radio" instead of their crappy music. Just my own observation. ;)

it's a bit of both...bad music + bad programming = bad ratings...but there is something to having money or being signed to a big label that helps you make it mainstream faster...i'm not sure Kesha would be a huge hit if her father wasn't a record producer...did i just reference Kesha? I make myself nauseous sometimes

Okay, it's Tuesday afternoon. Two CD's sit on your desk.

The first is a song by Rob Potylo. You pop it in...and you're taken aback. Rich melodies and an irresistible hook, but it's not on a major.

The second is a song by a different new artist. It sounds like half the other boring songs on Hot AC and doesn't stand out...but the label will give you $1,000 for 12 overnight spins this week.

I want you to tell me which of those songs you add in the real world.
