Roady XT boost

Does anyone know of a way to internally boost the output of the FM modulator on a Roady XT? I have a C. Crane FM transmitter that can be boosted by the antenna attenuator on the internal board. But I don't want to open up my Roady until I'm sure there's a way to tweak the output. Has anyone done this to their Roady XT? Thanks.

I had the same issue with an XT in my wifes car. I figured that a physical mod would be a nightmare, so I ended up replacing the stereo with a spiffy new Sony that had aux in. It also has iPod and USB, so road trips are a little better now.

There was a report somewhere that one of the XM units (maybe the XT) was first released with higher output but had to be dialed back because of interference issues.
