Strong rumors are that Entercom is considering bringing them to S.F.'s KDFC when they flip it to active rock. Will they still be heard in Sacto? ::)The word on the street is that they will be syndicated.

KDFC just signed a long term agreement with the SF Opera to broadcast it. Weeks after Entercom took over and also weeks after 95.7 flipped to country.

Word on the street is that KDFC has been given 18 months to prove its worth.

why wouold entercom flip kdfc, when it is consistently a top 3 station in SF, and the # 1 classical in the country?
entercom is not stupid.
why change what is a super ratings getter and a huge money maker to something that will most definitly fail?????

KDFC makes more in one month then all the Entercom Sac stations combined as a classical station. If Entercom did a format flip, they'd lose a lot of dough from those Mercedes and Lexus commercials for sure. CBS already has Live 105 and Clear Channel has 104.9 in San Jose anyway, so why one more active rock station? I can understand giving The Wolf (95.7) 18 months before flipping, since they've had a horrible time with that station, flipping formats every year or so for over a decade. KOIT and KDFC have been in the top 5 Arbitron every quarter for the past 3 years, at least. Flipping KDFC is just flushing millions of dollars worth of ad revenue down the toilet.
