According to All Access, Rob Dawes is out at KISS!!! What the hell is going on in Albany Radio!!! Hopefully, this is where ABC says thaey made a mistake in making O'Donnell PD of FLY and that Rob will be taking over that spot!!!! Unbelievable!!!!

Who is your source Mr Rubble? I am curious to know if he was fired or if he quit. Rob is a good guy everybody who I talked to who worked with him never had a bad thing to say about him.
By the way Terry O'Donnell was Kevin Callahan's assistant at ABC for the past two years before they made him pd of Fly. I'm sure it was just an interim level before they found a permanent replacement.

I wouldnt be surprised if ABC did inquire about him. Remember Mike Morgan isnt running the ship there anymore. Wouldnt ABC consider hiring him due to the fact that theyve lost alot of numbers the last few years. Unless CC has a clause in there contracts as well stating that you cannot go to work for another radio station across town within a certain amount of time. Can anyone help me out here?

Case in point. Dave Hunter was let go from pyx and then picked up by 94 Rock in a matter of weeks...Anything can happen in radio.
Rob Dawes sucked as a PD and no one in their right mind would hire him. He copied ideas from stations all over and threw everyone under the bus to further himself. That is the true reason he was fired. karma came back to bite him in the ass. Lets not forget the 17 year old girl he was doing at the station. hmmm could that have been a part of it?
Don't know why Rob was fired, but the jab at "copying" other stations is kinda dumb. To be blunt, there hasn't been original programming in radio for years. Everyone does it to some degree or another. When I was at ABC before, the PD then stole freely from NYC stations and we did quite well thank you. Things that work in some markets do well in others, some don't. What makes any station "unique" is the ability to take these ideas and incorporate them to the local market. Gee, isn't that the philosophy of "National" companies? That answer should be quite clear.
I owe nothing to Rob, but I can tell you his passion to the business is admirable, and it was a pleasure to work with him.

As far as copying other stations, is not a crime at all. That's why they have conferences, you go to a 3-4 days conference to learn and share ideas..Just a thought.

Pretty strong statements. What made him "suck" as a PD?
Did you worked for him and he fired you?? I dunno. About the 17 year old, again strong statement, if it's true he'll get what's coming to him..But you can't speculate THAT.
Thats funny, because nobody under the age of 18 works in the building.. Heck, I don't even think anybody under 21 works in the building.
Rob was a very hard worker, and was one of the best CHR PD's in the northeast. And yes, his passion was admirable. All those statements you made are untrue. If you are bitter about something, there are other ways to deal with it rather than making slanderous attacks. Why would a guy who is married with two kids be fooling around with somebody else? Especially within the company? Rob is a great guy. This is nonsense and uncalled for.

You are right on! Knowing Rob, there's no way in hell he would jeopardize his family..HELL NO.

That post about the 17yr old was just wrong and I think it shoulda been stricken from this board. We all know 17yr olds are legal anyways.
