Rob Dibble new Afternoon host on 97.9 ESPN/ESPN Radio1300

Rob Dibble (son of the late WTIC Newsman Walt Dibble) has been named as the new Afternoon Host on CC's 97.9 ESPN in Hartford and ESPN Radio 1300 in New Haven. Rob is joined in the studio by Paul Nanos who does mornings at sister station FOX Sports Radio 1410. Nanos had been holding down the 3PM-7PM slot for the past couple of months.

Dibble has something of a loose cannon reputation. He put his foot in his mouth more than a few times during his gig at XM some years back (when the channel was called Home Plate rather than MLB Network Radio). He was a second banana on that show, though. It will be interesting to see if he can cut it as the main man on a four-hour shift, and whether he can make interesting talk about sports other than baseball.
