Rob Lydick WABI

I'm gonna miss Lydick --- very professional, very personable. I wish him well. I would not be at all surprised if someday he were to return to Maine. He seemed to like the state very much.

I agree, he seemed quite sharp and very professional. But WABI TV has always had a good weather crew. Todd Simcox and Chris Ewing are both reliable and "know their stuff". I haven't watched the weather on ABC7 WVII lately; last I checked it was that hellatious Accu-weather forecast from PA. The weather folks at WLBZ/WCSH are also good, although I wish WLBZ would have another LOCAL forecaster to supplement Steve McKay.

Also New England Cable News has a great weather department, and they actually include lots of Maine weather, even though based out of Boston, that's where much of our weather comes from anyway!

As a weather geek and observer, I take the weather very seriously.

It really, reallyu annoys me that Comcast, which owns NECN, has it sewn up in such a way that it can only be seen on cable and not on satellite. I have Dish Network because I live in an area of Maine that doesn't have cable strung along the roads, and I would give my right arm to get news from elsewhere in New England on NECN. To quote Steve Martin, however, "But, nooooooooooo."

Grr.
