Jersey City, NJ, September 29, 2006 (NYSE: CCU) –Clear Channel New York’s (CCNY) The Beat of New York, 103.5fm KTU (WKTU-FM), is pleased to name ROB MILLER as the new Program Director at the station. The announcement was made today by Rob Williams (President & Market Manager CCNY) and Tom Poleman (SVP Programming & Marketing CCNY). Miller will continue to oversee programming at WALK 97.5FM in addition to his new duties. His first day at KTU will be Monday, October 2nd.
Poleman stated: “We're excited to have Rob take on this additional responsibility at KTU. He's proven himself as an incredible programmer, strategist, and leader. It's time to bring his magic down the Long Island Expressway to NYC.”
Williams stated: “Rob is an extremely talented programmer and we are thrilled to be able to give him the opportunity to grow within the NY Market. We look forward to having him join KTU.”
Miller has been in radio for the past 17 years at WALK 97.5/1370AM. He began at the station as an intern and in 1994 started his on-air career doing nights and swing shifts. In 1996 he switched to the management side and was promoted to Assistant Program Director. He has been Program Director of the station for the past five years. Under his leadership, WALK dominates the Long Island radio market consistently ranking #1 in ratings. He has received many awards over the years including Music Director of the Year, AC Station of the Year, and a Marconi Award for Adult Contemporary Station of the Year.
