Roberts out

is it just me or does the lack of subsequent posts on this item suggest nobody is surprised he's gone?

... or nobody is surprised at this kind of stuff from Clear Channel.

In this day and age, nobody is secure anymore, contract or not. If it is suprising, it's only because it's usually the air-staff that gets the boot, not the PD. Regardless, I worked with Rob during his first run at Y-100 & for part of his second tenure, up till the time I left the station. I wish him wished him well in his future endevors.
______________

What is that supposed to mean? Is Clear Channel the only company in the world that let's PD's go when ratings are down?

What ratings are down? The cluster share and billing are up.

Re: Roberts out

It wasn't ratings. It was $$$ (and a few other things). Just think of the amount that walked out the door with Dave, Rob, Kenny & Donny. And ALL companies trim the fat. Not just CC, David. I've worked for AAA, Cumulus, CC, mom & pop...Everyone loves to bash on CC and they are NOT the worst out there, trust me.

Maybe not the worst, but not real high in the loyalty to those who were loyal to you category. I worked with David Ross (we both managed Metroplex stations) and have to think that CC simply wanted to cheapen the operation.

The right money, of course. The wife is intent on staying in L.A. because her career is starting to take off. A Miami gig would have to pay me enough to be able to fly home a couple of times a month.
______________

No, stay where you are if you can. If you were to fly here a couple times a month, may I suggest JetBlue! And the best for you too!.
