It looks like Rob Ryan PD of JAMZ 96.3 may be looking, or in the process of getting, a new gig.....Surprised it took him this long to realize how ABC really works on the inside.....!

Rumors abound.....

Bummer...one has to wonder what lies ahead for the future of WAJZ.

I could have told you 7 years ago how ABC operates on the inside.
When they buy a station (AM/FM combo in the HV)and have the engineer change the front door locks to the station instead of calling the staff to let them know that they were no longer needed.
How would you like to get to work Monday morning just to find out your key does not work and that you have been out of work since Friday!
Classic ABC...

Jamz--from Rhythmic Top 40 back to Urban?

Hmm...maybe Jamz thinks their Rhythmic Top 40 format has failed...back to their old Urban format, perhaps! Yahoo!

Puh-leeze!

I looked on WAJZ's website and saw that he's still there! What to HELL makes you think he has been or is going to be fired?

Uhhhh...where did I say he was getting fired? Just because you're looking doesn't mean you're fired....how about that maybe he's sick of the way ABC is run. Namely, Kevin Callahan, who, from what I'm hearing is the worst "people" person ever!

How do you know?

That one I don't see happening, since they seem to be doing well with its current direction.

Can't really say it's doing that well in it's new direction. Ratings are on the way to being the worst they've been since the station signed on 6 years ago . . . but then again, that's not really a concern for ABC. The reason it went from Urban to CHR / Rhythmic was to attract more revenue from sales. Who knows how that's goin . . .

Greedy, ain't they?
They want to program not music, but money!
Nah, I wouldn't say that! They just want to bring A-S-T radio something it's never had before!

I can't believe I have to do this, but I shall guide you through this.

First, again, I didn't say he got FIRED! Second, go back and read the last reply I gave....where do I say he left? I said HE MAY BE LOOKING.....rumors are that he is.....HE MAY BE LOOKING....or MAYBE HE"S BEEN OFFERED SOMETHING SOMEWHERE ELSE.....hmm... any further clarification?

There are probably many people that would like JAMZ to go back to their urban roots, but it doesn't appear that's the direction they're headed. Don't know too many urbans playing:

Kelly Clarkson
Shakira
Don Omar
DHT
Daddy Yankee
Richie Spice
Elephant Man
"Faithfully" by Judy Torres
Nasty Boy Klick as a "Throwback" artist

On paper it looks like they're aiming the station at latin females. What's the Hispanic comp in the market? 10%? 15%? 20%?
