Robert Hensley on 610 Sports???

I was listening to the Rockets post game tonight and heard them mention Robert Hensley - apparently he's the new Sports Director for 610 Sports Radio...

When did this happen? (And who, if anyone, is out at KILT?)

I did notice that KTRH was having him do some non-sports stories on the morning news...

Very Interesting...

Robert moved over to 610 when Dave Harbison left. Harbison was going to be the SID for the Houston team in a start-up Spring/Summer football league, but they never started play. Dave's now back on Sporting News Radio weekend mornings.

Speaking of 610, who replaced Jeremy Foster as the morning update guy?

Adam Clanton did and he is awesome. Adam works as a producer at Channel 2 and is the son of one of my favorite people in radio, Brent Clanton. Adam can be heard weekday mornings from 6-10 providing updates and then has his own show from 10-11. He is a hard worker, is funny, and will do great things.

Chance

That's good to hear. 610 has had a really good knack of developing their own talent over the past 10 years (even if they are no longer in the building). Lance, John, Jeremy Foster, you, Matt Jackson, Adam Wexler and now Adam Clanton.

I remember hearing Clanton during some fill-in Sports Flashes for Harbison during last Christmas and his updates as Jim Rome and Bill Walton were 'epic'.

610 does not develop talent. Please understand and know this to be absolute scripture. Marc Vandermeer develops talent. John Granato develops talent. And Houston has 6 million people so talent kinda evolves on its own. But while the team in place at CBS Houston may do many things well, their ability and effort to develop talent simply does not exist.

Sounds like someone (thegame) needs a hug...bitterman...

Could you please inform me as to who Marc Vandy has devolved so I know which shows to avoid.

Amen ... :D But they can't possibly be as boring as he is.

I liked Marc at first, I really did but somewhere along the way my opinion changed. When they took over the morning show I thought Andre Ware would be the weak link of the team but he is actually pretty good.

Marc has functioned in just about every non-technical capacity there is at a radio station in his career. PD, GM, GSM, host, you name it. And every advancement he has made was warranted. He could be doing anything he wants in radio, it just so happens that his passion is play-by-play. So what has he done? He has risen to the pinnacle of that very limited genre. The NFL. There is no promotion. It is VandeNirvana. Understand the professional constraints within which he functions and you will develop a deep respect for and appreciation of him.

As far as the fatty remark about hugs and bitterness, nothing could be more removed from the truth. I loved my time at 610. I have many friends over there and no enemies professional or otherwise. It was just a silly statement to assume that the 610 machine develops talent. The talent over there figures it out on their own. It would be more correct to say 610 has been a good incubator from which some fantastic talent has emerged.

Then again I am not a "professional" so what so I know?

So whats going on with Pull tab? I actually bought that cd. Remember earlier in the year when Yao had his charity game with Steve Nash in China? I was watching the game and they commented on how much the Chinese fans loved your song when they played it at the game. Also do you have any Matt Bullard dunks you can upload to youtube?

that was a trick question. Bull. Doesn't dunk.

And for pulltab...unfortunately half of pulltab went on to write a Beatles book and get all famous and stuff while the other half went on to a fabulous career in the radio business highlighted most recently by a stint at 1560 the game.

VH1 has not exactly been banging on the doors for a "where are they now" bit.

Thanks man!
