Roberts Broadcasting sells WRBJ-TV to Trinity Broadcasting Network

Purchase price is $1.5 million.

I'm guessing the sale has to be approved by the bankruptcy court in St. Louis.

OMG, Jeff, that 99-point font scared the devil out of me. :-X

What do you expect for another secular station going to Jesus -- and one to a broadcaster with loads of controversy, no less?

On Facebook I ran across something concerning the direction of this sale. The next occurrence is the Granting of the transfer to Trinity Broadcasting Network. This hasn't occurred yet. After that keep an eye on TBN. TBN has a program called "Behind the Scenes" where TBN makes these type of announcements. You might keep an eye on this program in the next couple of days. If you have TBN on Satellite or Cable, in the Jackson area it is on at 7:00 CT.

Roberts is such a screwed up company. I remember in the mid 00's they flew me in for a job interview for their hotel division and all the regional controller could talk about was ghost payroll. LOL

AM or PM?

The transfer of WRBJ-TV from Roberts Broadcasting to TBN has been approved. It was approved yesterday January 23, 2013. The next thing to look for is the transfer to TBN.

The public notice of the transfer of WRBJ-TV has happened. It is FCC Broadcast Actions Report 47913 and it was issued today 01/28/2013. This is on fcc.gov. If you listened to the last two days of "Behind the Scenes" on TBN they are in anticipation of the changeover. But note that this report is taped 2 or 3 days ahead of time so the viewers of TBN are a little bit behind on the info flow but in a day or two everyone will be on the same page.

This is what happened with WRBJ-TV

1. Roberts Brothers asked for a 90 day extension of time to consummate the deal. This happened April 26, 2013

2. Roberts Broadcasting had to renew their license before handing control over to TBN. This happened May 15, 2013

3.TBN took control of WRBJ-TV on the 24th of May, 2013. They also included all subchannels they run everywhere else.

This is TBN's news release for takeover of control of Channel 34
