Robin DeWind

I'm starting to like Robin Dewind doing the Sports on Channel 10 in Rochester. Does anyone know why she does not do the 11 PM Sportscast ? She covers the 6 and 7 PM time slots but not 11. Based on past history with other stations the ratings always seem better when the news anchors, Weather and Sportscasters broadcast both the 6 and 11 PM news. Rich Funke does 6, 7 and 11. Channel 10 had Kevin Williams just deliver the 5 and 6 PM weather when he first came to 10 and that had disaster in the ratings at 11 PM. Now he does 6, 7 and 11.

If Robin Dewind wants to be taken seriously then she needs to be on the 11 PM newscast so she can deliver the evenings results. At 6 and 7 she is still more of a feature reporter instead of a sportscaster. However I think she is doing better and would like to see her on the 11 report. It's hard to respect the 11 PM Sports on Channel 10 when the news anchors are covering it 3 nights a week.

You are assuming that Channel 10 values sports. It's only a matter of time before it's severely cut back again or done away with altogether. Other print and TV outlets may follow suit. Look what just happened to Scott Pitoniak.

Your theory could be reality in the very near future. On the other hand there are still people who are interested in local sports and will switch channels if they have to in order to find out who won a local high school or college football or basketball game.
On the subject of DeWind, someone posted a comment about her involvement with Golisano. What's up with that? I thought she was married?

Robin happens to be a personal friend so lay off with the rumors and innuendos.

I know for a fact she has worked very hard to get where she is at today.

Mark,

Back to my original question. Do you think we can see Robin doing the 11 PM Sportscast anytime soon ? If not then why ?

If that decision would help Channel 10 improve it's 11pm ratings then yes I can see her in that time slot.

Not to change the subject, but if you notice a number of local anchors are working more on-air hours. Doug Emblidge for example not only hosts 13's early morning show, but is also the anchor for the 5pm news. That's one hell of a long work day.
