Robin Gibb R.I.P.

Sad news for Bee Gees fans, Robin Gibb lost his battle with cancer today, he was 62. He was a member of a legendary group that helped disco become popular in the 1970s. If it wasn't for that, disco wouldn't be the king in the 1970s. Now Robin joins his twin-brother Maurice and troubled baby brother and wasn't a member of the band Andy in music heaven.

Our thoughts and prayers goes out to Barry Gibb and his family for the loss of his brother.

RIP Robin Gibb (1949-2012) :(

Till I finally died
Which started the whole world living
Oh, if I'd only seen, oh yeah
That the joke was on me, oh no
That the joke was on me, ohh

One of my favorite songs from the pre-Disco Bee Gees in 1968.

Other BeeGees songs on which Robin sang lead, in whole or in part:

"Gotta Get a Message to You"
"How Can You Mend a Broken Heart"

some solo songs:

"Oh, Darling," a Beatles cover from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (understandable if you forgot that one!)

"Boys Do Fall In Love"

He also co-wrote and produced "Hold On to My Love" for Jimmy Ruffin.

Also Holiday & Massachusetts. Saved By The Bell was from his solo album Robin's Reign but is included in the Best of the Bee Gees releases.

The song "Living Together" from the Bee Gees album Spirits Having Flown has Robin singing lead in falsetto.
