Robin & Maynard - Contract Done April 17th

So. I got an email from Dave a few days ago. In the email, a newsletter of sorts for those that signed up, it says: 'mark on your calendar: April 17th. it's the first day Madame Fabulina and Johnny Maynard are no longer under contract. Will the R&M Show blossom again this spring? Ms. Erickson and Mr. Maynard will have more to say to you themselves in a few weeks'.

My question is....where the heck would they go? What station is left? I flipped through the dial while driving around yesterday and the only logical place I came up with is...95.7 KJR FM. I thought about it, and they might be a really good fit to the format. I could not come up with a better idea on where they might surface.

Thoughts?

Either KJR-FM or even KISM would be great for R&M I say.

I got the same email. My thought is KJR as well. I really hope to hear them again.

[wishful thinking mode]Maybe they could go back to Infinity/CBS and then they could have JACK with jocks like they do in Vancouver. Imagine them back on 96.5.[/wishful thinking mode]

No matter where they go, all loyal listeners will follow that is for sure. I like the ideas, and as we all know there is no one on God's green earth who can make the claim "playing what we want" more entertaining than Robin Erickson.

It's been a long six months my many friends.

They are two very talented people who may decide that enough is enough. Nothing lasts forever - even Pat O'Day moved on.

Robin & Maynard ARE HISTORY FOLKS

I have a feeling Robin's out of the radio biz, but I could imagine John doing mornings on KJR-FM. He's no stranger to those call letters. "Maynard in the morning, on 95.7 KJR-FM". That actually has a good ring to it, IMO.<P ID="signature">______________

Ignoring, for a moment, that many think JACK is sliding and several are already writing it off ... What if JACK did morning show with R&M, then stayed jockless rest of day? Would give them opportunity to see if personality presence helps the format or not?

Certainly has more legs in Canada WITH jocks than it has had down here with JUST Howie's imaging as only "voice" on the station.

That makes more sense to me than KJR-FM abandoning NO talk morning show that is cheaper and offers an alternative that they have imaged the station around already.
