Robin Taylor a listener favorite on WPDH for over 30 years, over 10 of them with Boris on the station's morning show announced on Wednesday that she is retiring. Robin returned to WPDH full time in 1995, serving as midday host for nearly 20 years, before pairing with Boris on the Boris and Robin morning show. But her history with 101.5 goes back further back than that. I first remember her as the friendly, and fun loving host of the overnight show on WPDH back in the early- mid- eighties. I was working third shift myself back then. She left the station and worked briefly at other stations including 97.7 now WCZX. WCZX was purchased by the then owner of WPDH. She remained on 97.7 for a while before moving back to WPDH permanently .
Not only was Robin entertaining, but she brought her deep knowledge of rock as well as her stoner report to the show. For a long time, her profile picture showed her sitting on the " hood" of her Volkswagen Beetle, hippy style. I still picture as that young lady.
Sadly, Robin has endured some serious health challenges in recent years. She was hospitalized in 2022-2023 and off the air for a long stretch. After recovering she returned to the Home of Rock & Roll, but several months ago the problem returned, forcing her off the air again. Borris said he has been in denial, but he kind of knew this day was coming. He will miss working with her. Robin said she plans to stop in the station from time to time to 'bother Boris' as her health permits. She said she is feeling much better now, but the time has come to enjoy her retirement. It is hard to think of her as not the young woman any longer. Congratulations, and good luck and good health, Robin.
