Well, now they finally have all the remains of the Barsky Show out of the company. Because every one knows that Rocco was really Ben Maxwell from Barsky's show. Now maybe Beasley will get a real morning show.

So, I figured I would tune in to 96.5 this morning to hear the wackiness...and whose voice do I hear that just happened to "steal the mic"? Bret "the Hammer" Hamilton? Was that really you? Dry sacrastic wit, relatively funny on the spot regardless of situation...hmmmmm...and most importantly not talking about having to take a pee for 10 minutes as the second shift "stealing the mic" did.

I think that second shift (9:00am) after Bret was the "new" Wired morning show, and if that time I listened is any indication of things to come they should simply just play ish-loads of music and not try to have an Am show...or better yet, go with Bret.

Of the "thieves", I heard a raspy male voice, a very overly gigly female and two others...and the subjects covered: having to pee, why do women get special treatment because of their "tata's" - (lead guys term, not mine) and how the size of the mic is like a males organ...perfect I guess for Wired, lame for the rest of us.

Sounded like they had a mid-westish accent, maybe Cleveland.

EDIT: After further digestion...Chicago...anyone know what Mancow is up to? Could this be his entry into Philly?

Chris is still there he was their intern and producer. Maybe they should hire back their old producer Pork to help out with morning show just to keep the Barsky family alive and well.

Yes and everyone SHOULD have known it was "Stick the Knife and Twist" Ben doing the LAME Rocco. Thankfully its done. Maybe Q will get rid of their stupid Rocco as well.

RFR Rocco Free Radio.

I just turned on Wired bout an hour ago ..
This guy sounds familiar..something like Tom Arnold (Roseann's ex :) )
He sounds like he wants to be the new morning guy.. he would work cheaper than Mancow.. :) Klien in the Inquirer said the new show would debut on Friday.
Do we have to put up with all this for 3 more days...

Too much..for me one morning is enough..

Re: We need a super-reporter-hero...tell the commish to turn the MK signal on!

There is radio-trouble in Gotham, we need Michael Klein!

Someone turn the MK signal on!

Mancow?

Oh, sweet Jesus! Let me call my friend Mancow Muller and warn him. LOL He's such a sweet and innocent boy...he won't be able to stand up to Bruce, Caroline or George Beasley. :)

Now...where are those old airchecks I have where he and Howard Stern went snarl-to-snarl?

Re: A brief letter from Ben Maxwell

Hey Wil,

A buddy of mine told me about your feeble attempt at humor. Nevermind the fact that by posting it you're technically committing a crime...

Here's the deal: if you've got something to say to me, or about me, then go right ahead. But misrepresenting something as, even jokingly, coming from me is just a little messed up. I'm all for free speech. But get a clue about who I am, okay? If you want to email me and chat, feel free. But check this out: I was fired two days ago. Have something of a pulse. will ya?

On the Barsky tip, for you and everyone else out there on this bash-fest called Radio-Info that like to say stuff like "Ben 'twist the knife' Maxwell": Paul Barsky was the Best Man at my wedding... When the time came to make a decision on what to do with this new format, he made his decision and I made mine. He had a contract. I did not. What would you have done? It's about time that everyone let it go and stop the hate. It does nothing for ya.

If you want to reply to me personally, go ahead... [email protected]. If you reply here, then I know that you're just a fountian of negativity that derives sadistic pleasure from others' misfortunes...

Good riddance I say. I used to hear him back on Barsky's show on WMMR and The Point, and listened for the first day or so when they flipped. I don't listen to Wild/Wired type music and found the whole "Rocco" thing extremely annoying. What really happened back in '03 anyway, didn't he basically backstab everyone and stay when everyone got fired?

I remember when the flip happend and listening to Rocco (Ben)
doing a bit with Barsky ...(who was doing some character..I forget
which one)

I thought then this whole new morning show with Rocco was something Barsky had created since he was Operations manager.
I was surprised when Barsky left and then sued Beasley.
I think Barsky and Ben will meet up soon and like two old dogs just lick each other's wounds and run together again..

Barsky can't fault Ben for taking a 6 figure salary for a while...

Worst. Mental picture. Ever.

How about crying in each other's beer then..

In this biz no one would fault anyone for that. But for testifying on the company's side during a trial to get YOUR 6 figures, yeah that I think he could fault him for.

First off... 6 figures? nope. 2nd of all... you have no idea how it went down... so instead of assuming, email me and I'll tell you.

are you the dude who just emailed me?

If you're not then keep reading... if you are, then there will be a reply to your real email in a few...

If "I" feel like it? That's BS dude, and you know it.

If YOU have questions, and really want to know the truth... then just ask... don't leave it up to me to contact you. this board is so funny... maybe other media ppl won't email you back, but ppl that email me about serious questions, get serious answers (if I can, legally).
