Rochester left out of new CC Management Alignment?

Clear Channel reportedly rolled out a new structure of Regional Market Managers and Regional Program Managers. Joel Delmonico is the RMM for Syracuse/Binghamton, and Rich Lauber is the RPM for Syracuse/Binghamton.

So, Rochester is still out their on its own? What's that say for the management skills of Kevin Legrett and the group PDs? Apparently, CC doesn't want to reward Legrett & Co. for their efforts by giving them sway over Syracuse & Binghamton, but doesn't want to slap them in the face by putting Delmonico & Lauber in charge.

Could mean nothing more than a reflection of Rochester's relative financial importance to the company as a whole, compared with Syracuse grouped together with Binghamton.

it's very possible that Rochester contributes as much to CC's bottom line as Syracuse and Binghamton put together, or even more. If you add Syracuse and Binghamton's 12+ population together, you probably get about the same number of people (and potential listeners) as you'd get in either Rochester or Buffalo as stand-alone markets.

If you look at some of the other grouping in CC's new alignment, the fact that Rochester isn't grouped with Syracuse & Binghamton seems more than a little unusual. It looks to me like either they didn't want to step on Delmonico's toes and make him report to Legret, or they've decided that Legret's not ready for the responsibility.

CC very likely thinks Legrett has the Rochester cluster under control. He fired the long time PD/OM of WHAM, proving he can cut costs, probably to balance Wease's hefty salary. As long as the cluster revenue is maintained or increased, there's no need for oversight from Delmonico, who will have his hands full with Syracuse and Binghamton. But since CC is such a weird company, everything is subject to change.

"He fired the long time PD/OM of WHAM, proving he can cut costs,"

Not sure this was a "firing" per se...Jeff Howlett was an empty-nester with all the kids grown and educated, and word is, t's on the books as a retirement, for which he reportedly was prepared.

Will he re-appear elsewhere? He is a talented broadcaster, so you never know...

Firing, retirement or premature retirement. Fair enough. Accepted. He's gone. That was the point. Question: Was he replaced? At what salary? Point is, CC's Rochester cluster needs no regional oversight from Delmonico.

Jeff has three children under the age of 10.

??? ???

Integrity on these boards? Seems too much like the media. Which info do we believe? Just askin.

HDBG

btw- I worked with Jeff in the late 80's...so this is a rhetorical post

Giving CC Syracuse Regional positions is a joke. Why they reward them, even keep them is mind blowing. Guess that means the girlfriend will have her salary job for life. When is somebody going to blow this whistle? Have an affair and keep your job! Or be a three day a week sales person while everyone works a full week. That's fair employment rules.

The bigger question is how bad is Legrett doing that a senior citizen whos' been boinking the help for 30 years and hasnt hit a budget since Clinton was President got a promotion over him?

I guess Bob1370 has never worked with Jeff Howlett. He's got a talent alright but it has nothing to do with broadcasting. Word is that massive firings are on the docket for tomorrow; another Black Tuesday. CC never paid down the massive debt and the banks want CUTS!!! PDs, Morning shows and news are reportedly on the block this time...what's left? CC never did radio, it was the audio version of Ten Little Indians. What a legacy!
