Rochester Public Radio and Non-Commercial Spring Book

Abiding by the rules and regulations pertaining to releasing Arbitron figures I will try to provide what information I can.

Remember this is 12+

WXXI-AM did very well in the spring book in both AQH Share and TSL

WXXI-FM stayed about the same in AQH Share and TSL is 2 hours less than the AM station.

WRUR had less than 1 percent in AQH Share, but surprising enough their TSL was close to WXXI-FM.

The Houghton station registered a big goose-egg in both TSL and Share.

When it came to TSL WEOS beat out everyone (even WXXI) with double-digit figures. However their AQH share was less than 1 percent.

WGMC, with the exception of WJSL, had the lowest TSL listing and their AQH share was almost tied with WEOS.

I noticed that...and I don't get it either. Maybe one or two people who're REALLY big WEOS fans and got lucky enough to get a diary??? I mean, our signal reaches most of Canandaigua, but no further towards Rochester. Not with WITR there and our DA pattern. Northward we're lucky to reach Clifton Springs...so it can't be a commuter(s) alone driving up TSL like that.

Hey, I'm not complaining, mind you. Monday morning I'll be cooking up some promos thanking our listeners for it. :)

Just think if your station could be heard in the Rochester market how many more people would tune to WEOS. It's a shame you can't get a repeater in the Rochester market, or have the college actually spend some money and buy, or lease, one of the class B FM's that covers the city.

THAT is funny.

It does, however, prompt this question: are current SNL references widely recognizable, or is this promo destined to be nothing more than an inside joke?

SNL? I never watch SNL. I just knew it from watching the movie itself. But just in case, on our site I put a link to the wikipedia entry that does explain it a bit, though.

I feel safe doing this for the pubradio crowd since "There Will Be Blood" was heavily "advertised" on the national NPR feed (both in terms of actual underwriting and in terms of movie reviews) for quite a while, there...and it's certainly the kind of film that appeals to our demographic.
