ROCK 100.5 Playing currents

So it appears that they will be playing currents from artists.....heard one this morning from the Black Crowes yet to be released "Warpaint" 8)

Yeah, they are making a HUGE mistake by doing this. I am rapidly getting tired already of listening. I still sounds like 99X to me. So, I am going back to my Sirius....Thanks

Sirius...where no channel is repetitive or boring.

Brent - Rock 100.5 sounds NOTHING like 99x......what station are you listening to? I've heard more Zep, Skynyrd, Rush in the past 2 days than ever before. 90% of the Rock 100.5 playlist would not be on 99x.

Its been on the air less than 48 hours.......

I checked here looking for Atlanta's 110.5 (as mentioned-now-in the discussion hints at the top of the page) but DAMN! HOW IS ANYBODY DOWN THERE GOING TO LISTEN TO THIS!!!

Better make a run to your local second-hand shop for old Aviation band capable radios....

Nobody has any patience on this board anymore. All the armchair PDs here want whatever changes that happen to be the instant, immediate Golden Ticket To #1, unless it's something they wouldn't have done, and then the people involved should be immediately run out of town. ::)

First impressions are vital and it doesn't take long for people to know what they like or don't like. 100.5's website not even active yet last I checked, not a good start. They should've been more prepared w/ that, what's the hold up?

I am sure if it was an oldies station without a website that would have been much better.

I don;t believe lack of website is an issue in the long run. Do you listen to a station based on their website? If so, why?

A stations website dictate's said format. It just makes you wonder if they are going to keep this format, or is it temporary.

I listened to OnA after TRG got the axe, and their site(s) added a lot to the show. It brings listeners into the mix, and they frequently use fan comments and feedback on the air.

Radio shows that do not see the importance of using the Web to interact with listeners do so at their own peril.

So I understand, a website dictates the station's format and lack thereof means this is a temporay format. The station is four days old. Once they have the website up an running I amsure they will promote the hell out of it. My guess is they were spending the majority of time on making sure the new 99x.com was up an running first.

Perhaps they will switch to oldies, huh?

this goes back to what I was saying earlier in the week. it looks like things either weren't well planned or Plan A, if you will didn't work out and there was no plan B. not criticizing, just saying that in the rush some things got over looked.

I have wondered if maybe Cumulus had a plan in motion and the way things went down (i.e. when NMX was canned followed by Steve Craig's departure) might have put a monkey wrench in the plan. For all we know, they may have actually planned to make these changes later and something went wrong forcing them to make the moves they've made thus far.

who knows, it is was it is currently. It ain't consuming my life.

edit//

I'm with Tibbs on the website topic. I've seen subtle changes here and there...(i.e. the 99x reference is no longer in the streaming online popup window) but obviously they're working on getting 99x.com in gear since it's targeting the interactive side..or that's how it was touted. If they're using someone on-site, then that's likely why things aren't moving as quickly as some think it should. They made the right move with the 100.5 site by making the link to the internet stream it's primary offering...and eventually adding contact info, etc. 99x.com should have done that rather than have this site filed with empty pages. Link to the streaming feed and to the 99xavroom and that's it.
