Rock 100.5 playlist: good show!

I've lived here in the ATL for nearly 25 years, and other than the brief run Jeff Dunham had as MD at Z93 about ten years back, 100.5 is serving up the most varied mainstream playlist I've ever heard. "Whole Lotta Rosie" in the middle of the day is pretty much unheard of over the airwaves in this town. I can't remember the last time I actually tuned in commercial FM b/c they might actually be playing a good song not beat into the ground. Well done folks, keep up the good work!

PS: Dropping a nice dose of Iron Maiden in there wouldn't hurt anything. They are the greatest metal band ever, after all.

u already thanked trg in another thread 4 being ur mentor or something so we already know u r larry n erics [EDIT]..of course u love their show. do u work there 2?

i'm just gonna sit here in the corner of the RI boards n wait for rock100 to crash n burn.
the only audience they got listening is fat bald old men reliving the 80s.
let it go dude. 80s r over. we need new rock in this music desert of a city.

[EDIT-namecalling]

[EDIT] Like TRG has anything to do with the playlist there? Believe me, TRG has nothing to do with my opinion of the music there.

[EDIT-inflammatory]

rock 100 is just old 96 rock recycled. u know y project sux? cuz they took the buzz shoved it on that signal and that woulda been cool but they couldnt let go of 96 rock so they still play that crap rite in the middle of kick ass music.

the rock100playlist sux. u want ur iron maiden get out a cd. or album? it got no busness being on the radio when we cant even hear what new bands r putting out.

My only beef is that they play less 80s hair metal :'(, and more new rock :p than when they first flipped. At least they go easy with the classic rock you can hear on the River. I guess "guilty pleasure" music like 80s hair bands don't test well on phone calls and in ballrooms.

But when it comes to the hard rock standards like AC/DC and Van Halen, they rock!!!

Not perfect, but my first choice for setting it and forgetting it.

what new rock jabba. u mean the 1 or 2 songs they play in a day from this century.
2 months ago 2day they kill 99x. n for what. to play same sh*t as every other station. all oldies all the time.

their playlist sux. the station sux. trg suck. waste of a good stick.

Inside - if you're so totally into new rock, why not just dial it down to 88.5. I believe that's what they specialize in.

Clearly 100.5 and your own tastes are in conflict. You might think about... getting over it.

If I hear Kravitz' abomination of "American Woman" one more time all kudos to 100.5 for their playlist will be withdrawn. Why not play Madonna's "American Pie" while you're at it?

Album 88 is probably too alternative for that ding dong. Not enough Plain White T's at that end of the dial. :D

I normally refrain from commenting on station playlists, as I am no expert by any means. However, I do know what I like personally. I have to agree, since I've lived in Metro-Atlanta (1993), that this is, by a long shot, the best mix of music so far, for me.

Growing up in the Boston area, I loved both WAAF (the Hillman Show) and WBCN (now the home to Toucher and Rich), for different reasons. WAAF at that time was much more geared towards hair bands, metal, etc., while WBCN was more classic rock.

Rock 100.5 - so far - gives me both of those, and then some.

Just appreciating the variety and nostalgia, at the same time. I say keep it up.

I’ve caught some of English Nick’s shows and liked what I heard. Does he get to choose his playlist? Does any Atlanta DJ pick what they play?

Can anyone explain why the midday girl doesn't ever do phones or do anything other than state the song and band or do live readers? What ever happened to reading tidbits about the band etc.??

I have heard her do both. Last week she had the girl calling to complain she wanted her FU call-in removed so her bf wouldn't hear it. she doesn't do a lot of them but she does do it.

You show your ignorance with this post. <sarcasm>The best cover version of "American Pie" was done by the Brady Kids ca. 1974 on their seminal album, Meet The Brady Bunch.<sarcasm/>

I dig Erin, she sounds great but I agree. It seems the station is less talk more rock.

Those days are long gone my friend of radio, the answer to that is a simple no.
