I would say BEAT is a perfect word...
They will be beat by KISR and B-98 in the next 2 books!

Before you predict its funeral, lets just give KBBQ a chance to prove itself. Plus Cumulus made the right move in filling this hole.

I really thought it would be some type of AC format, or even a Jack/Jill. I wouldn't have bet my paycheck on any type of urban format.... I was pretty surprised when I heard this morning.

The boys at KISR tried this with 92 KREU when the classic hits format didn't work. I just don't think they could sell it very well... Maybe with two other stations in the cluster it will work for Cumulus if they sell it as a combo. I'll be interested to see who is on board when the 5,000 songs in a row is over.

They had a good party over at Area 51 tonight... Thanks for letting us "get our drink on..." Good luck with the format.

SouthArk.... Are you in Fort Smith now? I thought you were a resident of the fine city of El Dorado based on your last post.... You and WPIV are everywhere I guess...

I wish you would come back on the air in some daypart.... I hear your spots up in NWA all the time.

The problem with KREU was its terrible playlist. They had less than 20 songs they just played over and over again and seldom got new songs. Sometimes they played songs twice in a row!

I hope this one is much better...I think it will be. Also, I think that one of the CHR stations will go down as a result of this, which one (KISR or KZZB), who knows.

I don't know. Cumulus isn't known for strong CHR's. A friend of mine who works as a PD for a station in Illinois told me Cumulus had only two CHR's (yes, TWO!) in the entire company that were winning their target demos in the Fall '04 book. If that's the case, I wouldn't bet on Cumulus winning any CHR battle.
