Rock 104 online version, where is it?

The web site is very confusing.....where's the streaming version of this legendary rocker? Totally branded "Rock 104" but shows a country playlist. Odd, very odd. The station sounds as good as the Gator football team.... :p

They are behind the 8-ball. No country1037.com yet either. Total clusterf*ck

this is the message at rock104.com

Rock104.com is evolving to meet the needs of our listeners on every new media platform available, especially online streaming through the latest apps and video applications. And, we’ll need your help building the new Rock104.com. Check back soon for complete details on how you can be a part of the all new Rock104.com.

Websites should've been active at 11:03AM on Friday when Randy Wright finished his speech during the flip.

Several things come to mind.

1) The airstaff should have been in place and on the air when the first country song hit the airwaves, beginning with the new LOCAL morning show.

2) The country103.7.com website should have been up and running live, complete with audio streaming, from the start.

3) There should have been pre-sold local/regional retail advertisers already on the air.

4) The new rock104.com online streaming should have already been up and running to immediately replace the terrestrial 103.7 Rock 104.

It appears this format change was not well planned nor orchestrated and was put together in a rather short time frame, although on a more positive note the music mix, liners and jingles does not sound bad at all. In fact it sounds very good, what little I have heard.

Harry Guscott wouldn't have botched this up. Imagine you are a sales rep at WRUF-FM, what the heck do you say "check out our web site?" Complete joke, poorly executed, poorly planned and may come back and bite them in the a$#. Pathetic, who's the OM at this joint?

It's the academia world, what do you expect? They aren't savy business people.

The voice guy is too young/gen-x sounding. Perfect for a CHR, not country. I would've grabbed John Willyard. As for the jingles, there is nothing country sounding about them. I'm not sure what package it is-- but it's from TM Studios, that much I know.

If they wanted a CHR sounding country station, I'm partial to ReelWorld and would've picked up Cat Country/WCTO 06. As well as Willyard for VO.

I thought UF had hired a high powered major market consultant and major market general manager, in which case, if this is correct, the above does not apply.

For years country stations have been using a CHR presentation with a high energy approach and delivery complete with CHR sounding jingles and imaging. The Country 104 – The Gator jingles sound fine to me. What is missing are the major market personalities and kick butt morning show. Perhaps in due time this will come to fruition. As for now, it's too vanilla and lacks personality.

Harry Guscott is a real professional. He launched Rock 104 flawlessly 28-years ago, so I have no doubts he would have done the same in launching Country 104 - The Gator.

To think I was there when we launched the first version of rock104.com......eons ago, when we started having this thing called the 'world wide web'.

"Point, Click and ROCK, rock104 dot com!"

And yes, painful efforts went into getting that right, not like this sorry excuse of a website.

somebody call goDaddy.com. Maybe all the domains are taken.... ;D

Duh.....it's a joke, just like the online streaming of Rock 104. Where is it?

It kind of reminds me of "Dave's Not Here". Except in this case "... the website and audio stream is not here..." for either Country - 103.7 The Gator nor Rock104.Com.
