Is it me, or did Rock 1045 just add a bunch of deep classic tracks now that Renda's WSOS flipped to Classic Rock 94.1? Me thinks so, this is fun again............... ;D
Mr Jax, I would like to think that someone hacked Renda's web site. Surely this was not done on purpose! If you don't want to stream, just take down the LISTEN LIVE link. And to top it off they insult the listener by telling them they need to find a better radio. Perhaps the listener should find a better radio station.JohnJax said:If tweaking is going on at Rock 104.5, it probably has more to do with getting beyond all the format introduction things such as power-playing core artists to set listener expectations. I’ve noticed a good deal of TV advertising too and that tells me Cox is vested in the success of Rock 104.5 Cox also has a history of being proactive, especially in recently flipped formats and they take nothing for granted.
But really, think about the average listener. A classic rock fan happens to discover the station on the way to work. With the station fresh on their mind, they will check out the website to add as a favorite for listening at work. What they will encounter instead will convey something that appears very bush league and perhaps they won't bother.

When WSOS flipped and one of the posters gave a link to the website, I must say I was pretty impressed with the look and feel of it especially with the “listen live” feature. I didn’t do my homework as I just assumed Renda was vested in the success of their new effort.
The other day I clicked on listen live and found a couple of paragraphs instead kvetching about streaming costs and how if a listener jiggles a wire that apparently acts as an antenna, then reception will get better.

Again, I don’t want to turn this into a Renda hate fest but come on guys, we are in the digital age and listeners can even hear streaming stations in the Ozarks and 99 out of 100 stations they listen to. Your choice but if no streaming is what you want to do then keep the message short and sweet – "we apologize for the inconvenience but we are not streaming at this time." – period. There are fewer and fewer “community” radios in use at work especially in office settings. Those in cubicle land can listen to anything their heart desires – and they do with technology that is today, not by jiggling wires on table top radios. I know no one over there ever listens to me but you have to trust me, pissing off new listeners or just forcing them to listen only in their cars is not a recipee for success.

At least once a week fumbles calls his market managers and screams all kinds of four letter foul words, threating life and limb or unemployment. The bald headed troll reacts out of fear by firing people and making knee jerk backward decisions. Fumbles wants everything the world, but won't provide his manages with the resources to make it happen. Fumbles managers and employees for that matter are setup to fail, it's like living on life support before the bastard pulls the plug.
As for streaming I believe with the explosive growth of smartphones, Renda should promote on air an application like tunein radio. It's radios future, click hear Fumbles: http://tunein.com/
