Rock 105.3 FM/San Diego Extends Agreement with "The Show"

https://news.****************/articles/c41346/Rock-1053-FM-San-Diego-Extends-Agreement-with-The-Show

iHeartMedia San Diego has renewed its agreement with "The Show" for Rock 105.3 (KIOZ-FM), San Diego's Rock Station. "The Show" will continue to broadcast weekdays from 6 - 10 a.m. for another five years.

"The Show," featuring Eddie Pappani, Sky Williams, Tylhor "Thor" Dodd, and Emily Griffiths has been entertaining San Diego audiences during morning drive since 2010 on Rock 105.3 FM with their relatable, and sometimes irreverent behavior.

I wonder if Mikey regrets leaving 105.3. Might be one of the most unfortunate turn of events.

From what I remembered, Mikey wanted more money from Clear Channel so he started negotiating with KBZT (then owned by Lincoln Financial at the time) for his entire staff without their knowledge. The entire staff were unaware of the negotiations and didn't want to leave the station, so Mikey left for KBZT and re-started "The Mikey Show" with an entire new staff.

KBZT paid big bucks for Mikey and the entire show flopped because KBZT's audience at the time was not Mikey's target audience. But as I learned, Mikey was actually fired because he brought a gun to work.

Never cared for him; he briefly worked at KSJO in San Jose. I thought he was a no-talent hack way back then (about 18 years ago).

I am very happy to see Rock 105.3's newfound ratings success.

Perhaps iHM's inept rock PD in Chicago could learn a thing or two (or three!) from Rock 105.3.

I'd give my left arm to be in San Diego right now,, As the snow comes down here..
