Rock 105 - Same Old Stuff

At least Dave, X, and Project refresh their music unlike The River and Rock 100.5.

As far as the River, not a good idea to multi task on-air talent on a sister station in the same market, especially a voice as well known as Graye. The morning River jock is live not "live" but the rest are VT'd and you can tell.

Why is it "not a good idea?" Because radio people think so? Do you think any average listener A) even notices or B) gives a crap? Do you think it is somehow negatively affecting the ratings or revenue on either station? I can tell you this about Cox Radio - those are the ONLY two criteria.

So far I like what I'm hearing from Rock 100.5, even though I bought most of the 96 Rock playlist years ago. They're playing the old favorites like Led Zeppelin but mixing in things like Motley Crue that has never been played on the radio much, at least around here.

The other day they did play Steve Miller's "The Joker" and I had to switch off really quick. Did you know some people call him the space cowboy while others call him Maurice? Peculiar.

A significant portion of what is on Rock 100.5 is not played on other station. Not as huge of an overlap with River and Dave as you suspect. Overlap with B98, you really think so maybe a small handful of songs.

I believe I already answered that question in the statement. I'll say it again, Graye is a well-known talent for over a decade in this market (#8) and listeners ARE smart enough to notice. In fact, they already have, although no one really gives listeners that credit! Just a bad idea to burn out good talent especially in a top 10 market in the country...just bad! All it does it distract talent from doing the best on air and save revenue for the station, ultimately the company. I understand radio is a business but it's also about entertainment value, why else have any personalities on the air at all? It's just a bad radio version of that Micheal Keaton movie Multiplicity!

Dude, let it go. Rock 100.5 probably has more listeners during the morning show alone than 99x had for every daypart. It's gonna have much better ratings, and it's not flipping.

Go look at the top of this page where it says ratings, go to Atlanta and find WNNX. You'll see 99x's ratings for the last year, I'll give you a hint where to find them.. the bottom.

Agreed. Rock 100.5 on a weaker signal than 99x will have more listeners. Like you said the morning show alone probably has more listeners already. The bigger question is does it have a shot of eclipsing q100 ratings on 100.5.
