Rock 106 WKQB Nashville "Crank it up"

After reading some old post, talking about Rck 106, i just wanted to add a little funny story. After the flip i remember seeing a local newscast which was interviewing ex. rock 106 DJ "mobie". He filed a lawsuit against the owners of the station in which he said, "i was hired to play AC-DC and Ted Nugent, not Frank Sinatra".
I don't know how the suit went , but i would guess that he lost.
I also wanna think some of you older RI members (Romer979fm, Tibbs2 and others) for some of the memories of the past you share with us, it's fun to look back and see all the different stations that have come and gone.
By the way, if "romer" reads this, did you do weekends on 104.5 the fox in the late 80's? If so, just wanted to let you know, you was one of my favorite DJ's on that station. You have that radio voice.

Ya know, I do remember that. I was in East TN when all that went down, but it was what
radio legends were made of. Seems like a pretty bright move that maybe didn't win a
lawsuit, but probably landed a pretty good paying gig for being a rebel with a cause.

One of the few joyous moments after they blew KQB up....

P.S. I have always heard that ROCK 106's demise was ALL really Romer's fault. ::)

I thought we agreed to keep that quiet: ahh...the 'savor time'...Carpenters...Manilow...and Streisand,
all on one station. and for 'junebaby62'... I was at WGFX from 87 - 90...but you must have been listening
from the fringe area of the signal. great studios atop the American Center at 12th and West End...looking
right into the visitors sections of VU stadium...to downtown...to Brentwood...great view!

BTW, the WKQB to WJYN story is told in great detail on earlier threads on this board

Romer, your right that was a great view, i went there a few times to talk with Charlie Walker.
I will check out the thread you mentioned, thanks for the info.

Tibbs, your right, "mobie" did'nt deserve the money!
