Rock 93.7 Yea or Nea

Yea, I like the fact they play heavier cuts than the other rockers i can hear (96.5/104.1) and throw in a gold cut here and there that I havent heard in a while. I get a kick out of the smart a$$ liners.

Nea, No Jocks, not even voice trackers, its basically just Jason Gintys 100kw IPOD with a few commercials.

What's sad, is Jason could do this in NOLA with some talent and kill 104.1 (a station that should be renamed all 90s alternative and just enough songs from this decade to be called a modern rocker) on 92.3 if there is no non competes on the Vacherie tower.

But yes, since going new rock , I listen any chance I can (when I don't catch Christmas favorites from the Mississippi Gulf coast) as it's better than many of the rockers I've heard around here

http://www.yes.com/#KRDJ for an idea on the playlist..

I have noticed planet radio has added some tracks I figured it wouldn't have played before due to 93.7 (AC/DC)

It's sad that the best rockers are all in markets 100+ (As I also like KXOR 106.3 in Thibodaux, but Jason Ginty still rocks it better)

So Put me down for a HELL YEAH ;D on KRDJ ROCK 93.7

I have said it before and I will say it again, 104.1 needs to be local and updated. The Florida voicetracking makes it nothing more than a commercialized satellite station. In my travels, all of the local alt-rockers are miles ahead. The FOX in Hattiesburg is great; Planet in Lafayette also; and if they could ever fix the joke of a signal that is 104 the X in BR, they could kill 104.1 in the BR market. The only reason folks in BR listen to 104.1 (and why it has more listeners in ratings) is you can never hold either signal at 104.5 or 104.9. It is pretty sad when a N.O.-based rocker is beating a BR-based in BR. Oh yeah, and all of the others have LOCAL talent (not piped in from Fl.).

Bjdj you need to remember one thing 104.5 Jackson, La and 104.9 Donaldsonville are maxed out in power and antenna height. Unless the FCC orders shuting down either 104.7 in Folsom or near Lafayette, B.R just have to deal with Rimshot modern rockers :)

As it stands and they have to maintain a minimum distance from each other so what about deleting the liscense of either 1045 or 1049 and moving the remaining station into BR propper? Neither one seems to hit their target as is and this shouldnt mess with the spacings of the 2 104.7 signals.

Only if the signal is heavlly directionalized to the south, but both are probaly stuck where they are because of conjestion around 104.3 through 105.5 I also forgot to mention about Mississippi stations near there. I am not certain but I think there might be one near there on 104.9 The only power increase and move on local frequencies thai I know are KDDK And KXOR. KQXL had room to move to 106.5 from 106.3 and WMTI from 106.3 to 106.1 This gane KXOR the chance to 25kw from 3kw, but had to move the transmitter to Bayou blue from Shreiver and drop height from 500 ft to 300ft

104.9 Can't move from Donaldsonville because it's stuck there due to WAKK Centerville,Ms. which is a class A 3kw station. and is actually under the seperation rules by roughly 7km.

Separation goes by class more than power ratings, so a 1kw A station is given the roughly same as a 6kw Class A station

104.5 Can't move due to it's proximity to KYRK 104.1 and is at the separation limit roughly on second adjacent

http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/spacing/

Back in the day, a lots of moves could be accomplished due to wide open spaces, However FM has gotten real crowded in the last 10 years or so where even 1 horse towns are getting stations again , so owners can get into a bigger market close by.

KDDK got it's move only because of studies showing that they wouldn't interfere with KEUN's protected contour as they are on the edge of short spacing

All my records, show KXOR was on a 350 foot tower in Schreiver before moving to the same height by in Bayou Blue and increasing power in the 1990s

Now talking about rimshots.... The fcc does have a vacant opening at 105.7 in Golden Meadow you can try and apply for :)

It might have been when I tuned in, but Saturday night I was hearing some pretty heavy cuts on 104.1 and not a lot of 90s alternative.

I thought this station was going to be flipped to sports? As silly as it sounds I was told that it soon become ESPN sports radio (which was on 1300 WIBR) and have the Jimmy Ott show. Also wasn't this station supposed to be sold?

You heard the syndicated Scratch and Sniff show. Mashups and the like.

As for the 104 the X comments...the station's had almost 10 years to do whatever it's gonna do in the BR market - the majority of those without 104.1 booming into the market. I'm still shocked it's lasted this long (along with Country Legends), but let's face it, what else could Guaranty put on those sticks now?

I'm just glad that it's finally out of Citadel's hands...maybe now it can actually become something great. I did hear a rumor before it was sold from Citadel that it was going to eventually flip to a news talk type thing....but that was just one of many rumors that fly down the halls of citadel lafayette....who knows whats true.

Why flip news talk (other than to serve Baton Rouge again, however the station was flipped to the Lafayette Arbitron market)? The station's main downfall is it's in the middle of two metro areas meaning hard to receive indoors on portables.... I find only a few formats work good on stations like that and rock is one of them

I cant listen to 93.7. Same tired songs that are on 98.1 and 104.1. Just on one station. Pass.
