Rock "n" Roll pioneer Ronnie Hawkins

Years ago I took in a rescued dog. She had so many emotional and medical problems from negligence and abuse when her couple of years of dog shows were over, that I finally realized about a week later that I had to recondition her, complete with her name which caused her to cower when she was called. I went through a whole list of names, singing some, just talking through them to decide what fit. I felt so silly the way she sat so straight and stoically, looking at me as though I were some total idiot.

I finally sang, "I wanna tell you a story 'bout a Mary Lou, the kind of girl who'll make a fool out of you.". The dog started barking, dancing in circles and jumping, so since she picked it, that is what we went with; and she lived happily ever after as a dawg, and the only time she showed off was to prance about and show others how beautiful she looked after her bath before she found the nearest bare spot in the lawn to roll in dirt. At almost 15 she went to sleep on her favorite rug in front of the door and died a happy girl.
