Rock & Oz

10+ years ago we were presented with 100.3 KKB, an alternative to HJY. I enjoyed their morning show, Rock & Oz. I know Rock is Michael Rock, now at FHN. Anyone know of Oz? He was funny as I recall and had a few great prank calls to celebs...

Sad to say that there are so many talented radio people out of work and there are so many people without talent who still hold jobs. When corporate decides that people have to go, they don't look at how funny someone is. They look at if they can get a cheaper replacement. Stick an automated computer in a closet and pull in the same ratings as what's on the air right now. Corporate will pick the computer every time because they don't have to pay the computer.

There are a few companies who actually take pride in hiring real people. That's all fine and dandy until one day they get swallowed up by a larger company that doesn't have as much pride. Anyone who is lucky enough to have a radio job better hold onto it for dear life.... and more importantly they better have a backup plan for when the day comes where they go into work and are asked to turn in their door key.

It's not a matter of "IF". It's a matter of "WHEN".
