Rock Pirate 97.7

What happened to the rock pirate station on 97.7 on the north east side of San Antonio anybody have more info on this station

Was this station on the air a few years ago? I remember listening to a rock station without commercials or ID and was fairly weak as one moved west or south of downtown.

It's not a pirate. It's KLTO 97.7 Rock San Antonio, onwed by Univision. THe first format on that signal was La Kalle, than a simulcast of The Beat. When KISS began beating The Beat out of the no. 1 spot, Univision flipped the station to AOR. It's a carbon copy of KISS.

Not on the air anymore ha? The signal was horrible anyways. Probably would have made more sense to keep it as a Beat simulcast since when you travel further eastbound on I-10, 98.5 turns into La Raza from Houston.

I remember back in 2002 or 3 when i lived in SA hearing a pirate with a Hard Rock format on 97.7. This predates KLTO being a San Antonio station. I remember the signal being strongest around Perrin-Bietel and the Loop 410 area.

It was a pirate. Since it was strongest downtown, I assumed that it was near my GCHQ. It faded out the farther west one drove. In the Ingram Park area it was inaudible. It was strong by Broadway/410. It never ID'd itself, nor were any human DJs ever heard on it. It played rock music nonstop. Other people at work heard it, too. I don't remember when it disappeared, but it if the FCC busted it, it never made the papers or GH's World of Radio.

I know the station use to call itself RMP Radio
