Rock Radio OVERLOAD

Hmm been thinking the valley is in Rock Radio overload. We have so many stations in the rock format. Whether its classic, active, new, alternative, modern, whatever its overload. Is rock radio that profitable in the valley for all of these stations to do this format? Just tossing out the random rock topic
 
What wrong with having this many rock stations? I personally love it! But then rock is my musical preference. KUPD is the premier rock station in the country. I travel often, and I've heard nothing to competes with it. As far as the quality of some of the other rock outlets in town improvements are definately needed now. I think there are too many country stations in the Phoenix metro IMO.
 
It is good to see the momentum shifting back to the rock side of things again after the hip hop and gangsta rap craze for the last couple of years. Nothing against Rap..but it's getting a bit stale as of late.
 
Not only is KUPD THE Premier active rocker in the entire country, The Edge is one of the top Modern Rockers. (it's seen better days but it's still better than 89% of its counterparts).
 
i have to say i am no rap fan but we only have three stations that dabble in the format. There is not one station that is non stop rap from sunrise to sundown. So how can you compare have three stations playing some part of rap and having as many rocks stations.

we should take KDKB and change the format....PHX needs a movin' station...
