Rock Radio Reunion

Any thoughts on 96 Rock bringing back so many Triangle DJs from rock radio's past? I thought it completely overshadowed the awful Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame Benefit concert. Donna Reed is still great. Reynolds and Silva sound like they still chat and hang out. It was a real pleasure. I just wonder (this being a market filled with transplants) how much of it was lost on the listeners.

Everything is lost on some listeners, but I give them credit for a ballsy move that was very entertaining. And you are right that it was a lot better than the actual concert. WRDU should have done it five years ago.

Who would you qualify as great? I say, let's get the Gator Bowl and have all the Rock Jocks from the past with plenty of booze!

If RDU had embraced its history, it would still be around today. For some reason, they ran from great moments like this. There were enough locals left around to be touched by this, belee dat. Reynolds and Silva together again for the very first time. Nice job, boys.

I'm kind of sad I forgot to listen.
Reynolds and Silva use to be great in the mornings.
I'm sure there were a bunch of people in the Triangle who didn't "get it" all the way, but if they listened, even if they didn't remember and respect the history that was in that room, they had to be entertained waaaay more than they are usually used to being entertained.

I don't know if I'd go back into the 50s or rent the Gator Bowl for a lot of historic fossil DJs to get it on on the radio, but for most from the 80s and 90s, a lot of them DJs still got some of what they had "back then." :)

96Rock seems to be the only [rockish] station in the Triangle that from time to time pretends like they enjoy what they are doing.
