Rock station in Louisville

In 2005, iHeart decided to move The Fox from their big 100.5 signal down to the much smaller 93.1 stick. That made way for the original Louie FM on 100.5, which was followed by a succession of short-lived formats on 100.5. The Fox lingered at 93.1 for more than a decade, not doing great, but also not doing horribly. Eventually, it was decided the 93.1 signal contour might make more sense for a Hip Hop format. At that point, The Fox format moved to an HD-2 frequency and an online presence through the iHeart streaming app.

It's sad for the numbers are no better than the hip hop station are. And no better than the fox. They should make 93.1 rock again and leave hip hop to 96.5 for they do just fine with the format.

iHeart in Louisville has had a demographic problem going back years. At one point, they had five signals tied up in male-dominated formats (News/Talk, Talk, Sports, Classic Rock, and Active Rock.) Demand from advertisers and agencies is more skewed toward female demos. That's likely why The Fox went away, and why the the various formats on 100.5 have flipped over and over again.
